Mud Run Baby!

Here we are, Tanya and Tanya ready to run the 10K Camp Pendleton Mud Run!Heading to the starting line....At the starting line with 2 other multiple moms. (Between us 2 sets of triplets and 3 sets of twins)And we're off! Look behind the blue shirt and you'll see Tanya in black waving and posing .....I'm the short thing in the pink shirt behind her.Approaching the finish line and our final obstacle - the MUD CRAWL! See us posing, I have my arm out! The mud crawl, this actually felt good. Nice and cool and off our feet! I am under the red flag under the N of the blue and white sign, you'll see my beige hat - Tanya is in black under the T ~ look close.
Finished - time: 1 hour and 33 minutes!!!
Cooling off by the map of our race course.

The course - all 6 1/2 miles of it! What you don't see is the lake we crossed. it took about 5 minutes to cross it and it was so deep I couldn't reach! I could make my tippy toes touch if I pointed them. The walls I scaled all on my own (OK, I let the cute Marine help me with the first one, I stepped into his hand) but the 2nd was all on my own. Suicide hill had nothing to do with suicide .... I'd call it flat out MURDER!!! That must have been about 45 minutes to an hour of the race right there! And Slippery Hill is an understatement. It was a steep hill slicker than snot. If you had the good fortune of not slipping someone in front of you would slip and almost take you down. It was definitely a team effort of everyone catching each other and making it up the muddy hill.

Now we know we truly can do anything!

Uncle Chad

Chad has been my best friend for 20 years! We had the joy of meeting up for dinner last Tuesday. Chad is your typical BACHELOR to a T! Needless to say with his total bachelorhood he is not around children, well, at all. When he comes to my house it is truly like entering into another universe for him. My kids love Uncle Chad however he still needs some work. He is TERRIFIED of children. If you look closely he is not touching a single one. They were so excited to have him here they don't even notice stuff like this. We'll get him yet :)

Old Friends - Great Times

Saturday night I met up with some old friends from High School. Raquel was one of my best friends. We met in the 10th grade in Drama when she moved out from Utah. Mike and I, Raquel's Hubby, have gone to school together since Kindergarten! Mark, who will always be My Mark has been there since junior high! Some things never change!!!

We sat down at TGIFridays and laughed and reminisced for almost 5 hours! We can't tell you where the time went and I can't begin to tell you how hard we laughed!!!

The best thing is I don't think a single one of them have changed one bit. Absolutely refreshing and we will not be waiting another 18 years to meet up again!

TAG

My long over due tag from Chris! Here are 7 things about me you may or may not have known.

1 - I was a Drama fanatic in High School. I took it for over 5 years and directed our school play, Splendor in the Grass. I ended up winning a trophy at awards night for Best Technical Director.

2 - I am obsessed with finances and money ..... although I suck at math! I read everything Suze Orman puts out, research, and research some more. One of these days I just may be rich!

3 - I LOVE to decorate. I scour consignment shops, Craigslist, and anywhere else I can find "ideas" and things to refurbish and refinish. I also love to paint the walls each and every way I can imagine.

4 - I love the HEAT. I am a much happier person around sunshine! I love summer, the pool, the ocean, and anything related to the good ole summer time!

5 - I will NEVER AGAIN drink Diet Coke or anything with Splenda or Aspartame in it. It's been making me loopy for years and I now know that's is where it came from. You can argue me on my sanity ..... but that's my story and I'm sticking to it :)

6 - Most of my friends are guys. Don't get me wrong, I cherish my long standing girlfriends and ADORE my fellow triplet mommy friends (my closest friends these days) but I have always hung with the guys, had those same guys as my roommates, and still go out with them to this day. I can go a year without calling and they don't care. I can get in a good heated debate, and it gets dropped - they don't care. And best of all no matter where I go or what I do I have a group of big brothers I can always call on day or night to always be there.
7 - I volunteer so much more time than I actually have! I am a sidelines volunteer. I support pregnant mommy's on bed rest. I volunteer for Freecycle and am a moderator to process memberships for 3 local areas, I volunteer to help my lawyers and act as an advocate for wrongly accused families. I will always volunteer at school when and if I am ever needed (once the littles are in school themselves, that is). Basically if I can help someone in need - I would love to!

So there I am in a nutshell. A rather small shell. I think I could have listed 20 more things!
